The Information Technology Department serves as the digital backbone of CPN and a living demonstration of professional standards in practice. Internally, it architects, secures, and operates systems that power registration, licensing, verification, and Council operations nationwide.

Externally, the department supports CPN's public digital presence, data governance, cybersecurity posture, and service-delivery platforms. Every system should reinforce public trust in the computing profession.

Organisational Structure

The IT Department is structured to ensure specialisation, accountability, and availability of critical regulatory systems for CPN Headquarters and liaison with zonal offices.

To deploy, manage, and secure robust, innovative, and compliant technology solutions that enable efficient regulation, excellent service delivery to members and the public, and evidence-based decision making.

Strategic Objectives

  • Digitise core regulatory processes including registration, licensing, renewal, verification, accreditation, and continuing professional development.
  • Ensure high availability of public-facing platforms including portals, verification, and payment services.
  • Establish a single source of truth for IT professionals, firms, and accredited institutions.
  • Support compliance with NDPA 2023, NITDA frameworks, and ISO 27001 principles.
  • Provide data analytics and dashboards for Management and Council.
  • Position CPN as a model for digital government through paperless operations.

Detailed Functions

  • Software Development & Portal Management: manages CPN portals, online registration and renewal, e-payment integrations, verification systems, examination/induction/CPD systems, documentation, and user acceptance testing.
  • Database & Systems Administration: manages member, firm, and institution databases, backup and disaster recovery, data integrity, de-duplication, performance tuning, and statutory reports.
  • Network, Infrastructure & Technical Support: manages LAN/WAN/WiFi, servers, storage, UPS, helpdesk support, email systems, virtual meetings, and related technical operations.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: develops and enforces information security policies, data protection, firewall and endpoint controls, MFA, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Web, Digital Communications & Multimedia: supports website content, social media, newsletters, multimedia, induction, IT Assembly, live streaming, and branding operations.
